Well ...still alive ;)

(Thanks to Kirsten Hertz for the picture !)

Well, last post was last September....so silly.....so after so many months and a very long winter it's about time to wake up!
After the 'Lacma' waistcoat made for the picnic at Courson, a delightful event at Zeilitzheim, Germany where I wore my new dressing gown and the Rococo ball at Bruchsal Castle near Karlsruhe, I changed a few things on my 1720 habit and made a new 1730 habit in blue silk after dear Nora Waugh of course.
The most difficult thing with this kind of justaucorps is to handle the quantity of fabric which goes into the skirts, especially the hem and nonetheless we hardly see that amount of fabric :s
I underlined the pleats with wadding to give this "pannier" effect, typical from that period.
I should have put more wadding as I am not satisfied with the 'bouffant' effect.
We live and learn ;)

Thanks Angela!! I'm so sorry but I didn't manage to get the thread you recommended.... I had absolutely no time for hand-sewn buttonholes... Will I ever succeed to do it one day? Anyway that was so kind of you to enquire for me. I'm indebted to you for your help. Have a nice summer too and we'll stay in touch ;) See you. Phil
